"The incumbent will be responsible assisting with broadband policy and strategy development.
Develop and contribute to broadband business cases, strategies, and plans, especially for rural and under-serviced areas.
Identify and develop opportunities for ICT RDI in the broadband sector.
Provide technical leadership to younger engineers and give input to direction for teams in broadband R&D.
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
A minimum of a B Eng degree in electronics or computer engineering.
It would be an advantage to have a postgraduate qualification in telecommunications / policy / strategy or engineering.
At least two to five years’ telecommunications experience and in particular, experience in policy formulation would be an advantage.
Five to seven years’ experience in engineering would be preferable.
Behavioural and functional competencies required:
Good technical problem-solving and interpersonal skills are essential.
A strong analytical capability and a scientific approach to problem-solving.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
Independent worker and team player.
Conceptual problem-definition and problem-solving skills.
Have coordination skills to work with clients and subject matter experts in various disciplines.
Ability to transfer knowledge to engineers and analysts.
