Liberia: LTA's Achievements Outlined

The Citizens United to Enhance Democracy (CUED has outlined some achievements made by the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) in recent years.

According to the group's Executive Director Arthur Jikpamu, the LTA has remarkably worked well since the ascendency of Madam Angelique Weeks as Chairman of the institution .

Mr. Jikpamu said amongst some of the many achievements by Commission include the SIM card registration , the new National numbering plan consistent with the International Telecommunication Union and the successful landing of the ACE Fabre Cable, among others.

He said the institution launched this public awareness and sensitization program at the CEIO Hataiye Shop on Carey Street, Monrovia last month.

The CUED Executive Director said these achievements highlighted were carried out under the supervision of the department of Marketing Structure headed by Abdulah Kamara; the Engineering and Services department headed by Henry W. Benson; Public Consumer and Legal Affairs headed by Lamini A. Waritay and Government Affairs and National Policy headed by Henry T. Yuan, Sr.

"We taking this public awareness program to the various university campuses and intellectual centers across Liberia to make people to understand the work of the LTA", Mr. Jikpamu indicated.
