Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore's has released a statement in response to numerous questions from the public and the media about the delay in releasing election results.

Safaricom says it is not to blame for the system failure being experienced at the National vote tallying center at the Bomas of Kenya.

The mobile service provider says the virtual private network given to the IEBC for transmitting results has been up 100% and has not experienced any network challenges.

Safaricom says it was also not involved in the supply, distribution and storage of the software being used by the IEBC clerks to display results.
