Glo Boosts Access to Services With 3-in-1 Recharge

Lagos — Globacom yesterday announced an innovation tagged 'Glo Multi Recharge String' to ease subscribers access to its services by providing them with airtime top-up options.

The new package described as 3-in-1 by the Head of Operation Glo World Pan Nigeria, Mr. Bisi Koleoso, offers the Telco's customers opportunities to use recharge pin or airtime for either voice, data or international call services without the hassle of dialling from code to code just to access the service.

Koleoso, who spoke at the launch of the service in Lagos, explained that the new Glo Multi Recharge String enables subscribers to dial straight to the service of their choice using the direct service code on the string.

According to him, unlike the existing method of accessing service on the Glo network where customers are required to first buy airtime and later buy data bundles, or dial code for International Direct Dialling (IDD), the subscribers only need to dial *123*pin# for regular calls, *223*pin# for data and *323*pin# for IDD services.

Koleoso said Glo since its entrance into the Nigerian telecommunication market has continued to break new grounds as the only indigenous company in the industry.

He said with the introduction of per second billing system, the first network to roll out internet service on mobile devices in 2004 and the first operator to launch BlackBerry services, the operator is committed to bringing innovations that will enhance conveniences as well as quality experiences of Nigerians in telecoms services.

Giving further explanation on the new product, Glo's Head of Pre-Paid Services, Mr. Adesola Arowogbadamu, stated that the former recharging code on Glo network is still valid for customers who may wish to continue with the existing option of first buying the airtime and dial the required code for the service they want.

He noted that new Glo Multi Recharge String was born out of a series of consumer research carried out by the operator on the need to further simplify customers' access to services.

According to him, it was discovered that customers have a lot of things occupying their minds which makes it difficult for them to sometimes memorise all the codes for accessing specific services.

He said, "From an extensive consumer research, it was discovered that adoption of some services are low because customers cannot remember codes or string to access certain services but with this 3-in-1 Multi Recharge String, Glo subscribers can now dial straight to the service of their choice be it data, voice or IDD using a single recharge ping with specific code."
