ICT Secretary Fred Matiang'i has said cyber crime still pauses a critical danger to security information.

He said the government needs to come up with modern ways of securing information.

Speaking at United States International University during the internet and digital world forum yesterday, Matiang'i said information infrastructure is critical to security as the sector is growing rapidly.

According to him, more than 1.2 billion accounts have been hacked into globally, with over 1.33 trillion crimes committed.

Matiang'i however said the government does not disclose information on cyber crimes.

He said as much as security personnel are collaborating with agents like Interpol, the government does not disclose critical information to public domain.
