Pretoria — TELKOM, hosts of the Southern Africa Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference (SATNAC), said this year's edition would explore the possibilities of ubiquitous broadband as an enabler to transform lives.

The three-day conference will run from August 31 August in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

"As technologists we have front row seats to the digital revolution. The consumption of broadband has reached epic proportions and this appetite continues to grow.

"Ubiquitous broadband is necessary in ensuring that South Africa is not left wanting as the world journeys toward 'connected everything'," said Alphonzo Samuels, Telkom's Chief Technology Officer and Conference chairman.

SATNAC is popularly known for its ability to attract first rate local and international speakers.

The conference will see keynote addresses from captains of industry including Sipho Maseko, Group CEO of Telkom, Philippe Keryer, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Alcatel - Lucent and Walid Wakim, Principal Engineer at Cisco.
