Bits and Bytes, Cyberoam to Train Malawian ICT Players

Lilongwe — Bits and Bytes Limited in partnership with renowned global information, communication and technology (ICT) company, Cyberoam, will train ICT players in the country.

In a telephone interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana), Executive Director for Bits and Bytes Limited, Ahmed Osman, said the training slated for 22July and 23 July at College of Medicine, Lilongwe Campus is aimed at imparting skills and knowledge to players in the ICT sector.

He said the two-day ICT seminar will start with a symposium at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe on 21 July.

"Cyberoam is a big ICT company in the world and has decided to partner with us in order to enhance growth of ICT sector in the country.

"It is one of the fastest growing ICT companies in the world as it offers a unique product known as Unified Threat Management Solution which functions at the 8th layer that provides ICT security for companies and government," Osman said.

Osman also explained that the coming in of Cyberoam to Malawi would benefit the nation in improving the sector, saying government has prioritised ICT as one of the tools to spur socio-economic development of the country. He further said the company's efforts in partnering with other international companies aim at ensuring that there is easy access to ICT services among Malawians.

"Government in its Malawi Growth and Development Strategy (MGDS) has put ICT development as one of the priorities that can spur the socio-economic development of the country.

"The partnership between us and Cyberoam will complement government's efforts to improve the ICT sector for the betterment of the citizenry," he added.
