Odukpani Community in Odukpani Local Government Council of Cross River State has resolved to sue the management of Globacom for failing to pay N360m compensation for the collapse of its mast on two persons early this year.

Chairman of the Local Government Council, Mr. Bassey Asuquo Eyo, announced Thursday that since Globacom has reneged on the agreement entered following the tragic incident which claimed two lives and destroyed many houses, the community was now ready to exploit the legal option.

On March 19 this year, a Globacom mast in Odukpani collapsed, killing two persons: a Primary six pupil of St. Theresa's Primary School, Laurencia John Etok and one Earnest Adindu Finacountry.

Eyo said since all overtures to the telecommunication giant to compensate the community has failed, it has been decided that the court should settle the matter once and for all.

Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer Cross River State Police Command, Mr. Hogan Bassey, confirmed that the Command was aware of the matter but that investigation was on-going.
